The Role
- General Warehouse duties (Forklift & non-forklift based)
- Loading and unloading linehaul and metro freight that is of mixed shapes, sizes, type (fragile, top stow, dangerous goods and food stuffs) and weight.
- Ensuring all loads are safe and secure.
- Must be physically capable as this position does involve some heavy lifting.
- Ensure all customer freight is handled with respect.
This is a part-time permanent position that works from 5.00am to 9.00am Monday to Friday, and Rostered Saturdays.
Skills Needed
- Previous Forklift Experience loading and unloading general freight on b-train units and rail wagons.
- Previous freight handling experience, including Dangerous Goods handling.
- Previous experience working with units that have mezzanine floors.
- Excellent communication skills ,able to communicate clearly and professionally with people from different backgrounds and roles.
- Class 4 NZ Drivers License would be advantageous as there may be the need to provide a collection and delivery service throughout the Central Otago Region from time to time
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (for example able to read and comprehend business rules and policies, able to calculate hours to ensure maximum load weight and measurement restrictions are not exceeded)
- Excellent customer service skills.
